On Tuesday morning we were off. First stop of the day Peki'in. Naama reminded us about the story of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai and we saw the cave where it's believed that he hid with his son. We tasted carob from the tree outside the cave that sustained Rabbi Shimon. We walked through the ancient village and saw the stream that provided water for Rabbi Shimon. Many Jews used to live in Peki'in ,today there is only one Jew, an elderly woman.
While walking in Peki'in Yoni bumped into his aunt Chana, that was a nice surprise!

We discussed how all the shekalim have different pictures of villages and towns in Israel. On one side of the new 100 shekel bill is a picture of this Shul in Peki'in and the opposite side is a picture of Yitzhak Ben-Zvi the second and longest serving president of Israel.

We ate lunch at Rosh Hanikra in a restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean.
After lunch we took a cable car down to the grottos (caves) carved out by the sea over many years.
Next stop-the majestic Baha'i Gardens in Northern Acco.
We stopped in a unique shul with mosaic walls depicting different scenes and events in Jewish history. Check out the coins, pretty fascinating. Davening Mincha in the Mosaic Shul
Last stop of the day- Old Acco.
Yoni brought his kite and got a chance to fly it in the wind.

We went up to the ancient sea walls and watched in awe, the magnificent sun set.
