Day 2

Day two, we woke up davened and ate breakfast. Our first stop -camel riding. Boy was that an adventure! Even though some of us were scared, we conquered our fears and went on the camels. We enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Afterwords we went to Ein Avdat- a national park with a beautiful water fall and scenic views.

It was a real tough challenge for some of us, with perseverance and determination we climbed up many steps and two ladders reaching the top of the the massive rock formation(Ein Avdat).

Avraham Avinu, Yehoshua Ben Nun, and David Ben-Gurion came to 'visit' us while climbing up the cliff. They told us their story and the imprtance of the Negev(South). Below is Yehoshua Ben Nun aka Ilan.

On the way up Ilan our junior archaeologist led us to a cave and we explored.

Next we stopped at a park for a delicious picnic lunch. When we finished eating our sandwiches we cleaned up all our garbage and benched.

Next stop David Ben-Gurion and his wife Paula's grave. We learned that Ben-gurion was the first prime minister of Israel. He wanted to be buried in the Negev desert showing that even though it might be hard to live in a desert, this land is ours and Jews should live there.

After all the hiking and walking we all enjoyed well deserved ices.

Last stop , we went to Naama's house in Omer, met her mother and enjoyed some snacks. Everyone was so well behaved. We all introduced ourselves, let Naama's mother know where we live and what jobs we do on the Kibbutz. We had a super trip and learned a lot of new things. We are excitedly looking forward to the next one.
